Frequently Asked Questions

Do I Need To Bring My Pet To You Myself?

Not unless you want to. We can provide pick up service to your veterinarian or home.

Must I Have A Funeral?

No. Any service such as viewing, or graveside attendance are optional. We have found, however, that grief recovery is more complete when some degree of ritual is performed.

What Else Do I Need To Know?

We want you to know that the owners of Sandy Ridge Pet Cemetery are pet lovers just like you, and have lost pets themselves. We care about people. Our job is to help pet owners with their immediate needs when the death of a pet occurs AND to help the family recover from that loss. The owners live by the property and are usually only a phone call away.

How Do I Make Arrangements?

By simply calling us on the phone. Complete prices and procedures will be explained. Over the years we have discovered that pet owners are relieved to find that special arrangements are neither as expensive or complicated as they may have thought.

Can I Make Arrangements Ahead Of Time?

Yes. We strongly recommend this option. Experience has proven that planning ahead provides emotional comfort by putting the arrangements "behind you". All decisions and expenditures can be decided in a period of calm, not crisis. This will save you additional stress when the loss occurs.

What Is The Difference Between Home Burial And Using Sandy Ridge?

The main difference is that Sandy Ridge can assure you that your pet's resting place will never be disturbed and will always be cared for with concern. Sandy Ridge is a legally zoned and restricted cemetery with an endowment trust fund to provide for its maintenance and preservation. Home burial, or some pet cemeteries cannot offer this peace of mind.

Is Home Burial Legal?

Sometimes. We recommend that you check with your local health authority for any regulations. If you do choose this alternative, caskets and markers can be purchased at the cemetery office.
